YouTube Tool Pricing, Compared

What VidIQ, TubeBuddy, 1of10, NexLev and OutlierKit actually cost in 2026: starting prices, free plans and top tiers, side by side, so you can match a tool to your budget and your job. To size that budget, check how many YouTube views it takes to make $1,000 to $5,000 a month.

How much does each YouTube tool cost?

Starting prices reflect the cheapest paid plan (annual-equivalent where noted). Free columns show whether a no-cost plan or trial exists. Seasonal sales can cut these prices, so check our Black Friday YouTube tool deals and holiday deals on YouTube tools before you buy an annual plan. OutlierKit's Black Friday deal is 40% off your first payment on any plan with code BFCM40 through December 5, 2026: your first month, your first year, or a lifetime plan.

Tool by Tool

What does each tool do?

VidIQ

VidIQ is the SEO incumbent. Its paid tier (Boost) is about $16.58/month on annual billing or $19 month-to-month, with a generous free plan and a top Max tier at $49/month ($39/month billed annually). Pricing is now metered in monthly AI credits. It is the strongest pick for keyword research and the in-browser SEO overlay.

TubeBuddy

TubeBuddy is among the cheaper entry points here. Pro costs $12/month billed annually ($144/year), and Legend costs $27/month billed annually ($324/year) and adds A/B testing and bulk processing. Those are TubeBuddy's own figures; it does not publish US monthly-billing prices in a citable form. The free tier is limited and some essentials are gated, but for budget-conscious SEO and split-testing it is good value.

1of10

1of10 specializes in outlier-video discovery. The free plan gives 60 credits a month. Basic is $19/month or $180/year with 150 credits, Pro is $89/month or $828/year with 1,000 credits, and Ultra is $4,999/year with 3,500 credits plus coaching. AI tools come on every plan and use credits; research tools use none. Yearly billing saves 20%, and a 7-day money-back guarantee applies.

Spotter Studio

Spotter Studio is closed. Spotter shut off public access to Studio on October 22, 2025 (Tubefilter). On September 28, 2026, spotterstudio.com redirected to spotter.com and the old pricing page returned a 404. Before it closed, Studio cost $49/month or $299/year. For its AI ideation job, 1of10 is the closest replacement, with a free plan and Basic at $19/month.

NexLev

NexLev is a budget niche-research tool. Lite (Chrome extension) runs from about $9/month annual, Pro around $30-35/month annual, plus legacy lifetime deals north of $510. It leans toward faceless and niche channel research. Pricing is low, but it's Chrome-only, has no free trial, and its monetization data can be inaccurate.

OutlierKit

OutlierKit is built for experts, consultants and coaches who teach on YouTube, and for agencies that run their channels. It starts at $49/month ($24.92/month billed annually) for the Hobby plan, with Pro at $99/month and Max at $399/month. Outlier detection is included at every tier, and Pro and Max expose a developer API at 2 to 10 credits per call, plus an MCP connector for Claude. Every plan also writes titles ranked against breakout videos near your topic, descriptions with hashtags and chapters, and reviews your script before you record. A free trial of 30 credits lets you test before paying.

The Verdict

Which is the best value?

There is no single winner. Value depends on the job you are hiring the tool for:

  • •Cheapest overall: NexLev Lite, about $9/mo billed annually. For budget SEO, TubeBuddy Pro costs $12/mo billed annually.
  • •Keyword SEO: VidIQ Boost (~$16.58/mo annual) for keyword scores and the browser overlay.
  • •Outlier & competitor research: OutlierKit from $49/mo. Outlier detection at every tier, an API on Pro and Max, and a free trial of 30 credits. 1of10 is the alternative if you want its dedicated outlier database and in-app AI generators.

What do enterprise research tools cost by comparison?

Creator tools sit at one end of the market. Research and intelligence platforms sit at the other, and their prices are a different order of magnitude. BuzzSumo starts at $199 a month with no free plan left. Glimpse starts at $99 a month, though you will not find that on a pricing page. Tubular Labs publishes no price at all and quotes per seat. If you are weighing that whole category, the Glimpse alternatives comparison maps it by job.

If you are weighing one of those against a creator tool, start with Glimpse pricing, which breaks down why the number is so hard to find and what the $99 tier actually buys.

YouTube tool pricing FAQ

What is the cheapest YouTube tool?+

On annual billing, NexLev Lite is the cheapest paid entry point at about $9/month ($13 month-to-month), with a lifetime-deal option. TubeBuddy Pro is next at $12/month billed annually. For outlier and competitor research specifically, 1of10 Basic starts at $19/month and OutlierKit Hobby at $49/month, and VidIQ's Boost plan is about $16.58/month on annual billing. The cheapest tool that is right for you depends on whether you need SEO, outlier research or AI generation.

How much do YouTube tools cost per month?+

Entry pricing ranges from about $9/month (NexLev Lite, billed annually) to $49/month (OutlierKit Hobby), with TubeBuddy Pro at $12/month billed annually, 1of10 Basic at $19/month, VidIQ's Boost plan around $16.58/month on annual billing and NexLev near $13/month month-to-month. Top self-serve tiers run higher. 1of10 Pro is $89/month, 1of10 Ultra is $4,999/year and OutlierKit Max is $399/month. Spotter Studio is no longer sold; it closed to creators in October 2025. Most tools also offer a free plan or trial.

Which YouTube tool is the best value?+

Best value depends on the job. For budget keyword SEO, TubeBuddy Pro ($12/month billed annually) is strong value. For keyword research and the SEO browser overlay, VidIQ's Boost plan is good value. For outlier detection and competitor research, including programmatic API access on Pro and Max, OutlierKit fits experts, consultants and coaches who plan videos from proven topics. Outlier detection is included at every tier from $49/month, with a free trial of 30 credits. 1of10 is good value for its dedicated outlier database, and its $19/month Basic plan costs less than OutlierKit Hobby.

Do these YouTube tools have free plans?+

Most do. VidIQ, TubeBuddy and 1of10 all offer free plans (with feature or channel limits), and OutlierKit offers a free trial of 30 credits. NexLev has limited free access. Spotter Studio closed to creators in October 2025, so you can no longer sign up. Free plans are a good way to test whether a tool fits your workflow before committing, especially to an annual plan.

Should I pay monthly or annually for YouTube tools?+

Annual billing usually offers the biggest discount. VidIQ's Max plan, for example, drops from $49/month to $39/month when paid annually, which saves $120 a year. But annual plans are paid up front for the year, so only commit annually once you are confident the tool fits your workflow. If you are still evaluating, start on a free plan or month-to-month and switch to annual later.

Sources and method

Starting prices are the cheapest paid plan on each vendor's own pricing page, last verified on June 23, 2026 (the date at the top of this page), in US dollars. TubeBuddy is the exception: its pricing page shows local currency outside the US, so its figures come from TubeBuddy's own TubeBuddy vs vidIQ article, checked 28 Sep 2026. Annual-equivalent prices are marked. Each linked pricing guide carries its own check date and the vendor source. Prices change often, so confirm before you buy.
